Brushing The best technique for brushing is as follows:
Use a soft brush with single tufts in 2 or 3 rows.
Brush systematically: start on one side of the mouth, going completely around the teeth to the other side. Then, brush the inside of the teeth from one side to the next.
Brushing will remove plaque only from the outside and inside surfaces of the teeth. In order to remove the plaque from between the teeth, they must be flossed.
The brush should be angled at 45 degrees to the tooth with the bristles contacting the bottom third of the tooth. The brush is moved in short rotary strokes, cleaning I or 2 teeth at a time.
