As a thumb rule, you can calculate the approximate ideal weight of small and large framed persons (men) as follows:
For small frames - subtract 6% from medium frame weights.
For large frames - add 7% in medium frame weights.

1. As a thumb rule, you can calculate the approximate ideal weights of small & large framed women by the following formula.
For small frame - subtract 6% from medium frame weight.
For large frame - add 9% in medium frame weight.

distinguish between small, medium and large framed persons like this.
Men:
Small frame - wrist circumference below 16.5 cm (6 1/2 " )
Medium frame - wrist circumference between 16.6 17.7 cm (6 1/2" - 7")
Large frame - wrist circumference above 17.8 cm (above 7")
Women:
Small frame wrist circumference below 13.9 cm (5 - 1/2")
Medium frame - wrist circumference below 14 - 16.4 cm (5 1/2" - 6 - 1/2")
Large frame - wrist circumference above 16.5 cm
