Reduction of weight calls for the special knowledge of weight watcher; it will make certain that you don't lose your health while you lose your excess weight. Weight Watcher will see to it that you don't reduce too rapidly and thereby put a strain on your heart and circulation. Weight Watcher will prescribe the correct amount of minerals, proteins, and vitamins to prevent weakening of your bones and organs, and also to maintain your resistance to disease. For example, if you use a "no calorie" salad dressing made of mineral oil, your doctor may want you to take some vitamin pills, because mineral oil prevents the absorption of some of the vitamins your diet would ordinarily provide.

Weight watcher has learned many helpful things by studying various people who have been on reducing diets. Individual preferences vary tremendously, and it helps a great deal if you can have your diet adjusted to your taste. Some people are miserable if they are deprived of a bedtime snack; some want a substantial dinner at night and are willing to cut down on lunch in order to have it. Patients are occasionally reconciled to dieting when I tell them they may have hot or cold consomme and celery whenever they want it, or a cup of slightly sweetened tea to control hunger pangs.

Faddists and quacks who advocate reducing diets do not follow correct, medically exact rules for dieting. Stay away from them.
